Community Rehabilitation Center (CRC) is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Vice President of Finance & Administration to join our Executive Leadership Team. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, grant management, revenue cycle oversight, compliance, administrative functions, and Board reporting.
The ideal candidate will have strong nonprofit financial management experience, healthcare billing knowledge, and the ability to provide strategic financial leadership that supports CRC's mission and long-term sustainability.
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategic Planning:
- Lead all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Develop and manage annual operating, program, and capital budgets.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and organizational sustainability.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop financial forecasts and long-range financial plans.
- Analyze financial trends and make recommendations to improve efficiency and financial performance.
- Maintain strong internal controls and sound financial management practices.
Board & Executive Reporting:
- Prepare and present financial reports, budget updates, forecasts, and key performance indicators to the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
- Attend Board and Finance Committee meetings as requested.
- Develop financial dashboards and reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
- Support organizational planning through data-driven financial insights.
Revenue Cycle & Billing Oversight:
- Provide oversight of billing and reimbursement activities related to:
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Medicare Advantage Plans
- Commercial Insurance
- Behavioral Health Services
- Monitor accounts receivable, collections, denials, and reimbursement trends.
- Work collaboratively with billing staff and third-party billing vendors to maximize revenue performance.
- Review billing reports and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate reimbursement processes.
Grants & Contract Management:
- Oversee financial administration of federal, state, local, and private grants.
- Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and financial compliance requirements.
- Prepare financial reports required by funding agencies and grantors.
- Assist with grant budget development and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with grant regulations and funding requirements.
- Track restricted and unrestricted funding sources.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management:
- Coordinate annual audits and financial reviews.
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain organizational financial policies and procedures.
- Oversee financial risk management and internal control processes.
- Support contract management and financial compliance activities.
Administrative Leadership:
- Provide oversight of administrative functions that support organizational operations.
- Assist with human resources administration, benefits coordination, and policy implementation.
- Support operational planning and organizational development initiatives.
- Participate in strategic planning and leadership activities.
Staff Leadership:
- Supervise finance, accounting, billing, and administrative staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive financial management experience.
- Experience with nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Experience with grants management and multiple funding sources.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and healthcare billing processes.
- Experience developing budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.
- Experience preparing reports for executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with financial management systems and Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
- CPA, MBA, MPA, or related advanced degree.
- Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, substance use treatment, or nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge of federal grant requirements, Uniform Guidance, and nonprofit compliance standards.
- Experience working with Board Finance Committees and external auditors.
- Experience overseeing third-party billing vendors and revenue cycle operations.
